Manifold is free to use and stays that way. A donation buys nothing and unlocks nothing — the program is the same either way. It pays for the parts of it that cannot be written: the developer account that signs the Mac build, the machines the releases are made on, and the hours.

What stays free

All of it. Every feature described on this site works without an account, without a network and without paying anybody — that is the design and not an introductory offer. What a paid plan will one day add is somewhere to keep a second copy and things that cost money to run; it will never be the editor.
